M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle, by 21st
Century Toys
The first thing you think is "Damn! This thing is
HUGE"! And you're right. Unboxed the dimensions are 34" long x
19" wide x 20" high (including antennas). It weighs a whopping
20 pounds, again unboxed.
As big as it is, it is not true to scale.
If it were actual 1:6, it'd be even bigger.
If you're good at math to figure out the scale, the
real vehicle is 21.5 feet long x 9.92 feet high x 10.5 feet wide.
The gun torrent is functional; rotates 360 degrees.
25mm cannon elevates. TOW missile launcher elevates.
|

|
|
2 side machine guns per side also elevate
slightly. Wheels & treads rolls. Smoke grenade launchers are molded in
place.
This is the rear. The ramp is functional for
quick troop deployment. There are 2 compartments on the sides that
open to store ammo boxes (included). |

|
|
The ramp also has a functional hatch. I suppose
there are times when you don't want to expose the passengers to
gunfire. There's a tow hitch under the hatch, & a cable is included
that snaps into the rear ramp for storage.
"You've got a taillight out, buddy. I'll let
you off with a warning this time, but get it fixed ASAP"
"Thank you, Sir"

There are 4 seats in the troop compartment. You maybe
able to fit 2 scale figures & their gear. This is not to scale as it
should hold an entire squad. To be fair, it's not bad for a toy
(or replica). |

|
|
Pilot's compartment. Hatch opens, pilot (not
included) fits inside. This pilot is wearing the Tanker uniform
set, also by 21st Century Toys, with some Dragon pieces mixed in.
Figure is made by Blue Box.
Luckily the BBI figure shown is a bit more
articulate & slimmer than a 21st Century Super -Soldier figure. There
isn't too much room in there! |

|
|
Note: as I bought mine "as is" in an open box sale,
mine is missing the TOW launch controls. For $50, I don't really care!
List price was $250.
To sum it up, this is a very nice piece, even though
it could have been a bit bigger. One complaint I have is that 21st
Century did a crap job with packaging it. There should have been
some sort of protective styrofoam used; there wasn't. All of the Toys
R Us stores I've been to had damaged Bradleys with boxes that got
shredded in transit. With the boxes ruined, thieves were able to steal
small parts. Bad for the manufacturer, bad for the retailers who had
to sit with these huge boxes on their shelves with damaged products,
and most of all bad for us collectors.

"Almost finished with my legs...gotta work on biceps
next"! |

The Army teaches us to improvise. Since Bill left the
jack back at the base...
