Threat Oriented Response Operatives

What does a former Navy Seal, a fashion model, a NYPD detective, and an LAPD SWAT officer have in common? They can all kick your @ss!

(I wanted to do a team of all Latino heroes. I started some bashes, & came up with a few character backgrounds & the team's name. I saw them as a team recruited by the government to go on covert missions and undercover assignments where their ethnicity would help them better blend into the locale & background. I only got that far, maybe when I get some time I'll expand further on this team. )

T.O.R.O.

Juan Mendez

Mendez is a 2nd generation American. His grandfather came to the country with little more than 50 dollars to his name. A strong work ethic eventually made him a very successful small business owner. The entire family still works for the restaurant and 3 bodegas that his grandfather had started; all but Juan. He had to go on his own path. He was a rebellious youth, but never a felon. He eventually straightened himself out, and became a Los Angeles police officer. Still just a little crazy, he transferred to their SWAT department.

Adriana Ruiz

Ruiz grew up in a tough neighborhood in New York's Washington Heights.  She overcame the perils of the streets to go on to getting her Bachelor's degree. Upon graduation Adriana joined the NYPD and after 4 years of being a patrol cop, was promoted to undercover work.

Amy Cintron

As a successful teen fashion model, Amy was at the verge of superstardom. While she had modest fame and a more than modest bank account, she felt unfulfilled. As a surprise to her manager and parents, she joined the United States Army. She had some difficulty at first, but Cintron proved herself as a fine soldier to her peers & superiors.  She spent 4 years in the active service and another 2 in the National Guard.

Miguel Ramos

Miguel Ramos was a bully as a kid. His mother had died when he was very young, and his father was too busy and usually too drunk to deal with him. Realizing that he had nothing; and more importantly, nothing to lose; Ramos joined the US Navy to  become a sailor like his old man.  Unfortunately swabbing decks, saluting officers, and swabbing more decks wasn't enough for Ramos; who was tough in spirit and in body. Miguel always felt that he had something to prove; and had he go into a lot of fights. After spending one time too many in the brig, the older Ramos came to visit his son. They exorcized many of the demons that they've both been carrying around since the death of Miguel's mother. With a renewed outlook on life, Ramos became a model sailor. He successfully passed the BUD/s and became a Navy SEAL.
