A weathered & battered soldier, but he's still in
the fight!A couple of years ago I wouldn't have purposely
shredded a uniform, or disfigured a figure! I was too cheap, & 21st
Century was all I bought. Times have changed. Now that I buy primarily
all BBI & DML figures & parts, my 21st C stuff is just wasted space. I
had about a dozen
unused woodland uniforms & I stopped counting how many bodies
collecting dust. So what the hell, it was a good time to experiment. To age his BDUs, I soaked them in tea, then kicked
them around in the dirt, ground them into the lawn, scraped them on a
tree... you get the idea. I also stabbed them , set them ablaze, &
painted on some blood.

All in all, I liked the results. My weathering isn't
half as good of some work I've seen, but I liked it. looking back, I
should have weathered the boots by removing the glossy shine. I may
just do that! |
